Things to remember before purchasing
- The width of your foot (very important)
- The style of the shoe (flats, d'orsay, sling back, close toe, etc)
- The height of the shoe
- The type of fabric used to make the shoe
Width of your foot - This is important because Christian Louboutin shoes are usually cut narrow so if your foot is wide you will definitely have to size up 1/2 to 1 full size up. If you're foot is narrow to medium you can probably do true to size to 1/2 size up in most Louboutins.
Style of the shoe - The style of the shoe will also determine if you will need to size up and my how much. The following are some guidelines as to how much you will have to size up by. - Close toe pump (ie: Decollete 868, Simple): true to size to 1 full size up
- D'orsay (ie: Jolie Noued Dorcet, Sevillana): true to size to 1/2 size up
- Sling back (ie: No Prive, Gabine): 1/2 size up
- Slides (ie: Jolie Noued, Sabotage): 1/2 size up to 1 full size up
- Peep toe close back (ie: Very Prive, Yoyo): true to size to 1/2 size up
- Long pointed toes (ie: Decoltissimo, Helmut): 1 full size down to true to size
- Strappy sandals (ie: Rodita): true to size to 1/2 size up
- Flats (ie: Ballerina, Un Voilier): true to size to 1/2 size up
- Wedges (ie: Miminette, Miss Boxe): 1/2 size up to 1 full size up
- Ankle boots (ie: Metallika, Hung Up): 1/2 size up to 1 full size up
- Boots (ie: Bourge, Pretty Woman): true to size to 1/2 size up
- 70 mm: true to size to 1/2 size up
- 85 mm: true to size to 1/2 size up
- 100 mm: 1/2 size down to 1/2 size up
- 120 mm: 1 full size down to true to size
Sizing on Classic / Common Styles
These suggestion are based on what sales associates suggest and what people normally size up by. The similar styles listed usually the same sizing rules. True to size = TTS and all suggestions are based on your American (US) sizing.
Sizing on Style I've come across
The following is a list of shoes I have own or previous owned or tried on. Please use this list as a reference only and to base how you should size up or down. Please note I have a size 5 US feet and typically wear size 35.5 in Louboutins. I have a normal/narrow width foot and my left foot is slightly bigger than my right. Please note that if you're in the larger size you might have to size up at least 1/2 size from what I've listed.- Very Prive: I take a size 35 but I have had some in 35.5 which be came loose after a while and had to put pads in it so I just take a 1/2 size down now.
- No Prive: I take a size 35.5 because of the sling back. I did try a size 35 and those were a bit tight on my left foot. I had a size 36 but had to put pads in for those.
- Lady Gres: I take a size 35 in them. They were a tad tight on my left foot when I first got them but they are ok now.
- Fontanete: I take a size 35-35.5 in them.
- Pigalle 100mm: I take a size 35.
- Simple 100mm: I take a size 35-35.5. The 35 is slightly tight on my left foot.
- Simple 85mm: I take a size 35-35.5 as the 35 is slightly tight on my left foot.
- Miss Boxe: I take a size 35.5
- Empire Moyen: I take a size 35 because the peep toe is wider so it fits just fine without sizing up.
- Declic: I take a size 35-35.5 in these for the 120mm (shorter version) but I think I should go with the 35.5 because the toe box is kinda short on my left foot. Tried on the Declic 140mm and I would go with 35.5, the 35 was just cramming my toes.
- Clichy: I take a size 35.5 in these for the 100mm version but I have them in a size 36 also which is kinda loose but still ok. I think the 36 fits better on a hot day and it swells up. I think I would need a 35 in the 120mm version.
- Decollete 868: I take a size 36 but I have to put pads in my right foot. I had a pair of patent in a 36 and they were loose so I would probably have to go with a 35.5 in those.
- Very Noued: I take a size 35 in them but I can probably go with a 35.5 too.
- Jolie Noued Dorcet: I take a size 35 in these because of the d'orsay style
- Architek: These ran a bit wide so I didn't have to size up for these. I took a size 35.
- Yoyo: I have them in a size 35 but I think I could have went with a 35.5 too because they are slightly tight on my left foot. For the yoyo 85mm the 35 was perfect.
- Iowa Zeppa: I have them in a size 36 and they are loose. The 35.5 fits well but length is a hair long, its ok though cuz the straps are holding my foot in place. The cut of the toe box is pretty narrow though and would advise you to go 1/2 size up from your US size to 1 full size up for larger sizes.
- Metallika: I have them in a size 36 they are a tad loose on my right foot but when I got them they were pretty hard to get into.
- Wallis 100mm: I went with a size 35.5
- Ballerinette: I went with a size 35.
- Ron Ron: I went with a size 35.5 the 35 is a bit too tight but some people have gone TTS with these. It depends if you want to go through a break in period or not.
- Rolande: I take a size 36 but sometimes I feel I can size down to a 35.5
- Rolando: I take a size 36 but depending on the material I can do 35.5
- Activa: These definitely run small and I have a size 35.5 but I think I can do a 36
- Twistochat: For the 120mm version, I got them in a size 35 (which was the smallest) and I need pads on both side so I would definitely size down for these probably a size 34.5 or 34. For the 100mm version, I would need a size 35.
- Bourge Boots: I got them in a size 35 and they fit me fine but I can probably do a size 35.5 (if you wear socks) although the SA said they run TTS.
- Armadillo: I must go with a 34.5 because the 35 is too big when they stretch out.
- Very Croise: I need a size 35 for them. You have to be careful you don't size up too much because your toes will start sticking out on the sides.
- Triclo: I went with a size 35.
- Miminette: I need to size up to a 36 for these.
- Rodita: I need a size 35 as they are pretty wide in the front. I think I could have went with a 35.5 because it almost look a hair short on my left foot but it might be loose.
- Ariella Talon Boots: I need a size 35 in these, unlike the Rolando/Rolande these don't run small. They run pretty true to size.
- Mount Street Heels: I need a size 35 in these but the ankle straps are really short so you need skinny ankles for these.
- Hyper Prive: I need a size 35 for these but they look too chunky on my foot. I would go with the same size as your Very Prive.
- Fortuna: I need a size 35 for these. The toe box is cut wider than Very Prive so TTS to half size up (for large/wide feet) would be fine.
- So Private: I would stick with your regular No Prive size for these so I would go with a 35.5.
- Open Clic: They seem similar to the Very Prive to me so 35 would be my size to get.
- Bow T: These are a D'orsay style and would go with the 35 at least but can probably get away with 34.5 (toes might stick out a little so it depends how I like them).
- Nooka: I need a 35.5 in these, these are cut kinda narrow and would go 1/2 size up from your US in them. The 36 I tried almost right just a tad big.
- Botte Flat Boots: These ran small so I got them in a 35.5 and they fit great.
- Turbella: Another d'orsay style similar to the Armadillos and would get a 35 in these or 34.5 depending on how I like the length.
- Alti Pump: I tried a 35.5 in the 140mm version and they seem ok. They should fit like the Declic since they are the same shoe but with a platform on them.
- Catwoman: I tried the 35.5 and its too long for me. I would probably have to go with a size 35 since the front is pretty narrow and it has not sides.
- Bilbao Wedge: This only comes in full sizes so I got the 35 because the 36 even though it fits was a little be wobbly when I was tried to walk in them. Its a sign that the shoes a too big and since the wedges are so tall its better to take the smaller size.
- Feticha: Some people have gone 1/2 size up but I would go with 35. The 35 are tight and need stretching but 35.5 would be slightly too long.
- Lady Claude: Some people have gone 1/2 size up for this but I would go with a 35 because 35.5 has a tiny bit of heel slippage
- Madame Claude: It is also similar to the Lady Claude but I got them in a size 35. For the larger sizes I would suggest at least 1/2 size up. These are not like other d'orsays.
- Fall 2009 Ron Ron: I would need a 35 in these (went 1/2 size down from before). They seems to cut these more true to size or wider this season.
- Bianca: I think I need a 34 or 34.5 (they didn't have it in the store for me to try) but the 35 was a bit big for sure on me. Most people go about 1/2 size down to 1 full size down in these. I end up getting a 34.5 in these and they fit but its slightly tight in the front, however I believe once it stretches out they will fit just fine.
- Treopli: I got them in a size 36 but I think 35.5 would be ok too, since it's a bootie style it holds my foot in even though they will eventually stretch out. Most people go 1/2 size up to 1 full size up in these because they run really narrow.
- Fernando: I would need a size 35 in these. The 36 I tried on was definitely way too big.
- Candy Pumps: The 35 fit length wise but my toes was getting squished because it was a bit too narrow. For the best fit I would go with a 35.5.
- Greissimo: I think I tried the 35.5 and they were slightly too big. I would go with my true size for these in a 35.
- Big Lips: I think these look similar to the Feticha and I would go with a 35 and stretch them out. People do say these run about 1/2 size small but if you're in doubt go with your Feticha size.
- Tinazata: I need a 35 in these.
- Elisa: I need a 35 in these
- Engin 120 Studded: I need a 35 in these
- Miss Marple Zeppa: I wear a size 35 in these
- Loubout 150: I got a size 35 in these and they are ok but a little tight. I think a size 35.5 would be perfect.
- Balota 150: I got a size 35.5 in these and they fit ok because they cage your feet in however they are really high so it doesn't feel like the heel sits right under my foot so the 35 might be better but then the front is really narrow and my toes might hang out.
- Lady Peep: I got a size 35 for these and they fit however they are cut shallow and narrow so I could have went with a 35.5 but I think the length would have been too long.
- New Declic: I got a size 35.5 for these and although they are slightly loose the toe box is shallow so I had to size up for my toes. Please see above for Declic sizing as they are similar.
Note: In the recent season the Louboutin sizing has become very erratic especially in styles like the Ron Ron, Very Prive (mostly the studded version), Bianca please message me if you need help in a specific shoe and I will try to answer as best as I can.
